Automatic CC Emails In Thunderbird

Posted in Internet, Reviews, Tips  by Ghacks

The following article  about Automatic CC Emails In Thunderbird is from our content partner Ghacks.
The email client Thunderbird does not provide an option to automatically send specific emails to a CC or BCC email address. While home users normally do not need that feature it might be required to send all email correspondence to a supervisor or different department in the company that you are working for. It can also be a good way to send emails to another account to store all send messages in one central place.

Auto-CC is an extension for the Mozilla Thunderbird email client that can configure the email client to automatically send CC or BCC emails whenever an email is send from the program. The extension is currently experimental which means that users need to log into the Mozilla website before they can download and install the mail extension.

The email address that the messages are send to has to be configured in the Thunderbird Config Editor. The editor can be accessed by clicking on Tools > Options, selecting the Advanced tab and clicking on the Config Editor button. Adding the auto_cc filter will display four parameters of the Thunderbird extension.

- extensions.auto_cc.auto_cc_address: Double-click to enter the email address that will receive the CC or BCC emails.
- extensions.auto_cc.enabled: Auto-CC is enabled if set to true and disabled if set to false
- extensions.auto_cc.send_as_bcc: Will send the emails as BCC instead of CC if set to true.

A button can be added to the Compose toolbar to quickly turn the feature on or off. One thing that this extension is missing is the ability to select CC or BCC emails on an account basis. As of now all accounts are affected if the extension is enabled which might be ok in a work environment but not at home. The toolbar button is not the perfect solution because it quickly becomes an inconvenience to turn the extension or or off several times a day depending on the emails that are send out. It is also likely that the user will forget to turn on or off the extension from time to time.

As of now it's a great solution for users who use Thunderbird in a work environment which requires to BCC or CC emails to another email address.

Amazing Illustrator 3D Effects And PS Brush Creation

Posted in Photograph & Graphics, Tips  by 1stwebdesigner

This blog is from our content partner 1stwebdesigner.
Adobe Illustrator is very powerful tool in the right hands, especially in creating nice 3D effects in the very fast time, later You can easily define those effects as photoshop brushes for later use. Enjoy this tutorial and follow with me to those steps - I will show and give You different ideas how You can use the same technique and get out amazing effects.

At first I will show You technique, how to create effects and after that, I’ll show You my ideas and different ways how to implement them.

Step 1
At first I’ll teach You how to create curvy lines, how to differentiate them and later import them to Adobe Photoshop and convert to brushes for later use. Open Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. For the fill color use none color, and for stroke use 1px monochrome colors. If You will use them as brush, select black #000000 color.

Select Pen tool(P) and create two curves, there is no matter what Your shape will be, we will later change it anyway. If You want to modify Your curve later, deselect curve, select Direct Selection tool(A) and click on just one point, drag it later to fit curve Your needs. Now again select all curve, holding ALT click and drag the curve to duplicate it. Then holding SHIFT+ALT resize it smaller to differentiate it. Read the rest of this entry »

Red Alert 3 - Wait No More!

Posted in Games, Reviews  by Lucas Artigas

The Genesis
In the Red Alert series, it is affirmed that scientist Albert Einstein was the creator of a time machine by which he traveled back in time and eliminated Adolf Hitler from the space-time continuum, thus avoiding World War II as we know it taking place. This new reality makes of Joseph Stalin Europe main antagonist.

The final events of Red Alert 2 show us the Allies just before entering Moscow. The leadership of the Soviet Union outlines a plan to travel back in time to 1927 and kill Einstein so as to change history and bring back the power in hands of the Soviet Union. But during the mission an alternate timeline is created, eliminating the events of the previous two games. Now the two factions, Allies and Soviet Union are under attack by a much more dangerous enemy: the Empire of the Rising Sun… Read the rest of this entry »

On the Origin of Species - by Means of Natural Gamers Selection, by Will Wright

Posted in Games, Reviews  by Lucas Artigas

I was thinking about a way to define Spore in a few words but I found myself in front of a big dilemma with a title which complexity places it beyond genres classification.

However, we all need to know what things are or are made of, thus, I have to say that this game genre definition is somewhere between a god game, a real-time strategy game and a life simulation game. Here is where the word "Creatiolutionism" comes up. Is it a new kind of religion or a scientific theory? (besides… it's a bit hard to say without getting tongue tied)

This kind of games is the result of the creative ideas of a man who throughout his career has been delivering hits. And if I had to point out which his greatest idea is, the one that could be the basis of incredible games like this one, I may say that it is to create a complex but accessible universe and leave it to the player who builds his own world and experience inside it.

With such a freedom to create, to maintain or destroy you will have an outstanding gaming experience that can be summarized by saying that it simulates the species evolution starting by its most primitive stages to their colonization of the galaxy.

Be born, grow, socialize, civilize and conquer the whole universe
The title is divided into five phases or stages, which will lead us from our beginnings as creatures in its unicellular beings to become masters of the galaxy. Each of these blocks is composed of a different routine which is to be repeated in order to overcome them, and although individually these parts do not bear close scrutiny because of their simplicity, collectively they become a game which is frankly sensational.

All levels of the game have in the interface a bar at the bottom that tells us how our development is progressing, and when it reaches the limit we can go to the next level. Simple, isnt't it? Read the rest of this entry »

Google Launched Gmail for Mobile 2.0

Posted in Chat & E-mail, Internet, News  by Maya

On Thursday Google announced the availability of Gmail for mobile 2.0 for J2ME-supported devices such as Nokia N95, Sony Ericsson W910i, as well as BlackBerry phones.

For starters, this second version of Gmail client has a faster and more reliable experience for users. If you have both a Gmail and Google Apps email account, you can easily switch between them quickly without using different applications to personal and work emails. It also supports saving multiple mobile email drafts so that you can pick and choose what you would like to send later.

If you have a QWERTY phone, you can use shortcut keys. Hit 'z' to undo, 'k' to go to a newer conversation, and 'j' to go to an older conversation. And the application has ability to compose and read email even while offline, then send automatically composed messages as soon as it detects a signal.

Also, Gmail for mobile 2.0 is available in over 35 languages now. Please note, though, that not all features are available for all phones. You can go to m.google.com/mail in your mobile browser to download the new Gmail for mobile to your phone.
