Many developing teams strive not only to be the best but also to release incredible games for us to spend our lazy hours. This year, the genre of FPS games (first-person shooters) gave us so many options, among those I choose this five to be on top of my list. Resistance 2 - Best Quality
This second delivery the saga developed by Insomniac exclusively for PlayStation 3, returns with a new atmosphere placed in New York and a significant new multiplayer component. The saga shows an immeasurable jump in quality, and with its second episode is definitely in a franchise to be considered for today and the future. The second part goes far beyond the hesitations of the first, and surely get what its creators hoped: a shooter that makes a mark of their strengths into a formidable refinement of something that was already an uncut diamond. The terms of "More and Better" have rarely had a better portrait than Resistance 2, where its creators are striving to multiply the possibilities of their on-line mode, incorporating a cooperative and finally providing fascinating personality to the enemies we will face.
Resistance 2 starts almost where Fall of Man finished, Hale is in the United States, the last bastion of humanity. Unfortunately, this seemingly impregnable fortress which is the North American continent suffers a simultaneous attack on its major cities by this barbaric enemy, the Chimeras. Thus, the campaign will visit a variety of urban, rural and industrial scenarios; that multiply the value of the title by broadening the diversity of the constrained first half. Sharing one keyboard and mouse on multiple computers makes sense. Many of us have more than 1 computers but don't want too many mess cables around or multiple mouses and keyboards that can confuse us. Well what about installing multiple mouse and keyboard on one computer? I've tried installing 2 mouse on my laptop and it doesn't make a difference because both mouse shares the same cursor. However, when doing presentation or brainstorming on one computer with a few people, having multiple mouse and keyboard really helps. Check out the flash animation below and you'll get the idea.
As you can see, the job gets done much faster. Here's a software called TeamPlayer that allows you to use multiple mouse and keyboard on one single computer. Read the rest of this entry »

I have been an avid openSUSE user in the past as it worked perfectly on my main workstation. However, I switched to Xubuntu as I'm more obsessed with speed and simplicity nowadays more than anything else. Since the latest version of openSUSE is about to be released and it promises some major enhancements over its predecessor, I decided to take a look at my former favorite distro to see what's been going on. openSUSE 11 (Release Candidate) is out already, so it's the one that I grabbed. At first, I was still contemplating on which flavor to get since openSUSE is available in both Gnome and KDE Live CD versions. I usually go for GNOME, but this time I got the KDE 32-bit edition. My main reason for this is that I wanted to finally try out the much talked about KDE 4. So, what's up with openSUSE 11? Is it good enough to finally beat Ubuntu on the desktop? Read on to find out… Test Machine Specs:
Board: Intel Corporation D102GGC2
Processor: 3.40 GHz Intel Pentium D
Hard Drive: Samsung 80GB ATA with 8GB allocated to VM disk
Memory: 2GB DDR2 RAM with 512 MB allocated to VM memory
Installation:
This is the part where I'm really impressed. The installation was very straightforward that I think even my grandma can figure it out. The process is very simple and it only requires a few steps to get the system fully installed. Here's my openSUSE 11 installation walkthrough - The Live CD set-up kicks off after clicking the "install" icon, of course. The "Yast Installer" welcome screen will then open where you can set the "Language" and the "Keyboard layout". You will also have to agree to the "License Term" to go on. Then, you will have set the "Clock and Time Zone", followed by the easy "Partitioning". I said easy because there's already a suggested partition and you can just use it if it suits you. The last step is creating a new user, and then you will be given an option to double-check before the "Live" image can be copied to the hard drive. After the installation, you will have to reboot to use your newly installed system. - Simple as that. Read the rest of this entry »
