TurboBackup - The Importance of Being Cautious
A couple of weeks ago I got up and as usual turned on my lap in order to start working. I had been working for several days on a huge translation, having completed half of it, so I pressed the on/off button confidently, eager to finish my job when the worst happened… no sound, no light, no…anything…I spent five minutes in a sea of despair trying to recall how many things I had lost, specially half of the job I had to hand in the following day…
Fortunately, once I recovered rationality, I could notice that it was nothing serious, that the battery had run out and I just had to plug the machine…but those minutes helped me understand how important is all the info I have stored in my lap and how terrible it would be to lose everything overnight.
I confess that this is something I had never thought of…shame on me! But after experienced such a distressed situation, I immediately started to browse the web in search of a tool that may help me be safe from the risk of total loss.
And I found the solution in FileStream TurboBackup, a powerful backup tool that allows me make backup copies of the most important elements in my PC, such as Internet favorites, calendar, Outlook contacts, photos, music and documents and settings from the main system.
You decide what to do with the files from the backup: store them on disk, burn them onto a CD / DVD, upload them to an FTP server, and so on. TurboBackup also allows you to schedule the execution of the backups. The schedule indicates what is of most interest for you, and the actions will be performed accordingly.
If you Easily Forget Things…
The program includes automated wizards with which you can easily make the backup and then retrieve files when necessary. It also lets you program the copies to make them every certain period of time.
Another great feature is that it allows making full, incremental or differential backups, adding only the files that have been updated or changed. You can use Incremental Backup monthly, or at any frequency intervals you desire.
What's more, the Previous Version function lets you have a look at all the backups of the same file so you can decide which version you want to restore. TurboBackup maintains a record of the information related to each of the backup files: type of backup, creation date, file format, size, etc.
Have you seen my…?
TurboBackup brings also a solution to the usual mess we have collecting piles of CDs, by providing the possibility of cataloging your backups on hard drives. So in one single function you will have access to the backup history and an easy-to-use directory for your archived photos, music, and documents.
Ready For Everyone
With FileStream TurboBackup, you can know in advance how much information stored in your PC will be backed up, since the Prepare Backup function provides this data as well as an estimate regarding space requirement and how many discs you will need for the backup. Something really important: it brings built-in compression options which help save you storage space. It does not matter if you are an advanced user or a beginner one, since this data is available for everyone.
Nowadays it is common to work on more than one PC, work and home, or desktop and laptop. The program provides an Easy Synchronization of the data you may have stored form your home PC to your office PC, lap to desktop, or even computers on networks. This procedure has a really fast way to be followed, by using file type, date, or attribute filters.
Be Safe!
As I already mentioned, we are all vulnerable to suffer from virus attacks, hardware failure, or system and application errors, with the consequent loss of our extremely important data.
