Keep Your PC Running like The First Day With PCKitchen's RegistryCleaner

Posted in Reviews, Utilities  by Lucas Artigas

Everybody loves the way their PC runs the first day you brought them home, however, as weeks go by disillusionment appears in the form of crashes, freezing, blue screens, low performance, slow boot up speed, and many other inconveniences that cause a deterioration of the overall PC health and efficiency.

These kinds of troubles have their origin mostly in Windows Registry which is a vital part of Windows system where the system configuration records are kept. But by installing and uninstalling programs, the Windows Registry will record the corresponding information, causing the registry size to grow larger and larger and full of redundant items that lead to unstable performance, thus, reducing the system overall performance, curious system errors, or even system hung ups. Many users are unaware of this situation and ignore how to fix these issues, and sometimes the only thing they can do is just re-install the operative system again and again. This really wastes lots of precious time.

But those days are definitely gone, now everyone can recover their system performance in a really simple and easy way.

PCKitchen's RegistryCleaner aim is to bring a simple and effective way to return their systems to the initial and optimal condition. In short, you will be able to have the computer of the first days back.

Simple process, high effectiveness
Just install, scan, fix errors, and enjoy. No complicated procedures, no need to know how everything works, no hassle for your operative system. Just a few clicks and… wait. Your system goes back to its original performance. Read the rest of this entry »

A Multi-protocol IM Client that Definitely Works - Am I Asking for Too Much?

Posted in Internet, Reviews  by Lucas Artigas

After years of search (and research) I finally found a multi-protocol IM application that delivers what it offers and goes beyond. I can affirmatively state that because from the very first time I've heard such a kind of software existed (more or less ten years ago) I've been looking for it.

Betas, trials, demos, shareware, freeware, or portables, you name it, I've tried them all, every single program I heard of. So, I've been putting my hands over whatever the program offered me that kind of functionality, nevertheless, I must sadly tell you that most of the times it resulted in disappointment and deletion of the program. Sometimes frustration came form lack of ease of use: the whole process of installing and getting to work was so tiresome that it made me to give up, other times, it came from lack of efficiency: the programs offered features that ended just in promises under a caption in the fashion of "The service you are trying to run is not available" making me terribly mad.

Thus, the whole thing ended in some sort of obsession, but, why? The answer is very simple, I wanted to handle the various chat and e-mail accounts I have and profusely use under a single program, and as anyone can expect, I wanted it to actually work in a simple, easy and free way, and for the worse, it seemed very difficult to find.

After every failure, I always asked myself: "Am I asking for too much?" Well, finally, I can say NO! Digsby offers all that stuff and many extras which I will describe below.

Stability, Multiple Features, Extra Functionality, and For Free.
Maybe these words look like the exaggerated description of an unattainable program paradigm, but in my opinion Digsby is the program that fits in there. It is a solid multi-protocol IM client, which, unlikely most software of its kind includes a lot of extra content such as full support for Social Networking. And simultaneously it gives stable functionality of all the features it offers.

So, Let's Take a Look Inside!
And see what it brings. To begin with, I will talk about the "standard" features every multi-protocol IM client presents. Digsby enables you to simultaneously handle all your IM accounts provided they are from AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, Google Talk, Jabber, and Facebook Chat. They will be shown together in a single, clean and versatile "Buddy list". Read the rest of this entry »

Using DriveImage XML to Backup a Hard Drive

Posted in PDF & Files, Reviews, Utilities  by Martin

Backing up data regularly should be one of the main priorities to avoid data loss. Many users feel that it is not necessary to backup their data regularly as they feel that the process is complicated and time consuming. The need usually arises after losing data because of a hard drive crash or deletion. Getting partial data back might succeed with the right tools but a hard drive crash usually means that at least some of the data is lost for good.

DriveImage XML is a free for non-commercial use software that can backup entire drives to image files. A drive is any device on the computer with its own drive letter that can store data. The backup tool provides additional means to copy data directly from one drive to another with is excellent when moving from an older hard drive to a newer one.

The software will display all options in its main interface after installation:
• Backup drives to image files
• Browse previously created image files
• Restore image files to the same or another hard drive
• Copy a drive to another drive
• Schedule automatic backups

The only prerequisite is enough hard drive space to store the drive images that are created in the process. A good choice (if the internal hard drives do not have enough free space) would be to purchase an external hard drive for that purpose and connect the drive to the computer whenever a backup has to be created.

A click on Backup will initiate a scan of the computer’s drives which are displayed afterwards on a new screen. The drive letters, file system, capacity and used space are displayed which should make it easy to determine the drive that should be backed up and the drive that can store the backup image. Applications That Will Help You Manage & Protect Your PC

Posted in Security, Tips, Utilities  by Joel Reyes

Many of us know that we have a need to protect our computers; we know that if we don't protect our PC's then drastic changes that are the least favorable will take place, however, what some of us don't know is what we can do in order to ensure our PC's safety, for the most part. Within the following paragraphs I will introduce you to four applications that will help you remember your passwords, unlock PDF files if the need ever arises and you've forgotten the password, full protect and secure USB sticks that are plugged into your drive and how to protect your emails by encryption.

Password Memory 2009
It usually isn't an easy task when you have to remember multiple passwords. Many times you'll register for one site with a set password while the next site might require you to add numbers or capital letters to it. Even so managing several passwords can sometimes be compared to a juggling act. However, there are solutions to this problem. You could write down all your passwords on a flimsy sheet of paper, or list them in an Excel or Word document, making you very vulnerable since your passwords can be found by anyone.

Password Memory allows you to encrypt and manage any password you'd like. This app will also aid you in logging into selected websites quicker and easier without having to constantly enter the information every time you visit a site. Store banking access codes and passwords securely with the use of Password Memory's encryption methods. Password Memory 2009 is a desktop app compatible with all of Windows operating systems after WIN95, and it has a variety of supporting languages from English all the way to Russian as well.
