New Personas - More Style for Firefox

Posted in Internet, News  by Yuki

We are very happy to see Personas makes our Firefox changing the look as easy as we change shirts. Mozilla Labs expanded its effort to help us to do so. Unique styles and tastes are now here individually shown up. Personas are free and easy-to-install skins for Firefox. With Persona, easily individualize Firefox with millions of favorite designs in new categories, sports, stars, fashions and music.

Mozilla Labs continually experienced on Personas since 2007 and now it released a new way to quickly and easily personalize the online experience. Basically, Personas developed in three concepts. Firstly, a little more fun and personal browser design. After the installation, select the one reflecting you most to be a browser design. The alternation would not interrupt any web activities. Secondly, instant great design effects. No matter what you are browsing, homepage, blog or even instant messenger, the design will follows you in each and every point once you get an entire online browser experience. Famous brands also included, such as Greenpeace, Cynthia Rowley, All American Rejects, and LIVESTRONG. Finally is the personal design ability presentation. You are encouraged to show your ability and would be getting more promotion in Personas. Don't you want to show your idea and want to anybody shares with you? Once you've creating your design, upload it to the design gallery, people will certainly discover and further make relevant reactions.

As always, the Personas will reflect our personality, interests and passions. We would like to see more steps to expand the catalog of available designs in Personas.

Screenshots of Windows 7 build 7070 leaked

Posted in News, Utilities  by Yuki

Particularly, we are enjoying the fascination of Windows 7 build 7068, and another piece of updating news shocked us. Screenshots of build 7070 are overwhelmingly filled into our eyes. What's impressed us more, the screenshots came from a small child whose parents work for in the SQL server division. He published several screenshots as well as following procedures.

Even we didn't get too much information about the interface or kernel update from the picture. The screenshots do look more legitimate. Besides, several following updating are mentioned:

•6.1.7069.0.winmain.090323-1630
•6.1.7070.0.winmain.090324-1853
•6.1.7071.0.winmain.090326-1750
•6.1.7072.0.winmain.090327-1845

Windows 7 Software Compatibility Testing - Kaspersky Anti-Virus

Posted in Reviews, Security  by Lucas Artigas

This Beta version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus brings some improvements to run it under Microsoft's newest operating system - Windows 7. In addition, it also includes a firewall and a spam filter. The interesting thing is that the engine behind this new antivirus is an improved heuristic analyzer capable of detecting unknown viruses (yes, even those which are not included in the database). How? Well, running not listed suspicious programs in an isolated virtual environment and analyzing the program actions to determine if, in fact, it is harmful or not.

Furthermore, the interface has been highly polished, making it very easy for new users and that is something to be grateful. As you can see, the program options are arranged in four tabs (Protection, Scan, Update and License) they enable us to gain access to all the features plus a Setting button which is accessible on top. Regarding memory usage, it continues the brand's tendency to be really efficient at low RAM consumption, besides, it behaves in such a smooth way. Read the rest of this entry »

Windows 7 RC Release Speculation

Posted in News, Utilities  by Yuki

It's the end of March and we are anxious about Windows 7 RC release. Either we made a date mistake or Microsoft was trying to control the flow of time, new information about the upcoming Windows 7 RC in a document shown and revealed a date of May 2009.

It is rumored in several blogs about Windows 7 build 7048. Microsoft finally set the record straight. A date has apparently been chosen for the actual deployment of Windows 7 RC1. As long as development continues to progress the way it has, we'll see its release on April 10, 2009.

The page's publication would coincide with the release, but we got no cause yet to assume that the previous April 10, 2009 was wrong. Microsoft once again proved that the RC would be available at least until the end of June with a limit on the number of product keys. A full year is permitted for a tester, which is expiration on June 1, 2010. Five languages are supportive.

What we can do now is just waiting, no exciting downloading activity by any download selectors. Apparently, they do not work totally. We do wish to wit such a star RC release as document mentioned.

Windows 7 Touch - Making Life touchable

Posted in News, Utilities  by Yuki

Windows 7 has enriched us a touch experience and made it a high-level way to interact with PC alongside the mouse and keyboard. And a little bit more, common activities were made to be thoughtful with touch in mind. We are free to interact directly, reach out slowly and even scroll a web page. All the quick flicks, made it so fast to move. We are dedicated ourselves to photos, web pages, videos and so on.

But we have to indicate, it's not only a simple sub-set touch. The biggest change in Windows 7 is support for touch screen devices. Hand writing recognition and support on touch screen displays are available. With fingers or a stylus, it's easy to interact with PC even we get a keyboard and mouse alongside.

Microsoft also improve the on-screen keyboard. We get a red feedback when pressing. Moreover, common gestures in Windows 7 could bring a series of touching experience. Tap or double click on any items, you are feeling the mouse dragging similarity as usual. More pinching, pulling, pressing or dragging, enjoy the touch pleasure with simple clicks.
