The folks at Mozilla have putting Firefox 3.0.10 ahead for Windows, Mac and Linux.
This time Firefox focuses more on security fix. Compared with previous version, the new Firefox 3.0.10 fixed security and stability issues. Totally, Version 3.0.10 laid more importance on browsing faster and safer. All the Firefox users could upgrade to this latest release either automatically or manually. An automated update notice would be sent within 24 to 48 hours for already used Firefox 3 users. Alternatively, this update could also be available manually be selecting "Check for Updates…" in the help menu. But this version would not be supportive to those V 2.0.0.X users due to any known security vulnerabilities.
You can download the latest version from BrotherSoft.

Nowadays, we are confused and boring to install commonly-used software one after another, this gets even worse on a fresh OS. Anyway, no matter on work or home computer, we need a program to help us when reformatting and backing up program installers.
Hereafter, that's what Smart Install Pack works. Smart Install Pack in fact incorporates a handful of software usually installed on new computers or reinstalled operating systems, etc. Meanwhile, SIP is also available to eliminate all the searching around for nothing, waiting, downloading and only then installing.
Presently, SIP is a pre-packed set of popular applications, including Firefox, Chrome, Avira Antivirus, Winamp, Skype, Gimp, Picasa, Thunderbird, Adobe Reader, WinRAR, Yahoo Messenger, CCleaner, and more. Everything downloads in a single file, so you won't be cluttering up your drive with a bunch of separate installers.

What's more, SIP supports an easy but intuitive user's interface design. Packing a set of ordinary but necessary software, SIP greatly improves the time and you don't need to install them one by one. Upon to the users' demand, any software could be decided whether you want to install or not. Still, don't worry about the package. It really works as small as possible with so many useful programs. Even some users suggest SIP should be improved without any manual click, but please put the shortcomings aside. Smart Install Pack is really a handy way to get a system up running quickly with a solid group of commonly-used programs. Let's use SIP to make new configuration faster and enjoy all the useful software in a few minutes and free!

From 30th, April Windows 7 RC version will be made available to subscribers of MSDN and TechNet. And the public beta download will be published in the official publication on 5th, May. According to the SuperSite Blog, Windows 7 RC version has many new features.
AAC/H.264/MPEG-2 support will not be provided to Windows 7 Home Basic and Starter customers. That functionality will only go out to Home Premium, Professional, and Enterprise/Ultimate users. But it looks like there will be add-ons made available (free or paid, it's not clear) to users of low-end Windows 7 versions.
MPEG-2 decoding (i.e. DVD playback) and Dolby Digital support will not be included in Windows 7 Home Basic and Starter. But AAC and H.264 decoding *will* be included.
Maximum RAM. All 32-bit versions of Windows 7 "support" 4 GB of RAM, of course. But if you go 64-bit, you can add up to 8 GB in Home Basic and Starter, 16 GB in Home Premium, and 192 GB in Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate.
Windows Media Player Remote Media Experience (RME) is not available in Windows 7 Home Basic or Starter. However, all versions can share media over a home network.
All Windows 7 SKUs support 20 simultaneous SMB connections. This works out to 10 users, apparently.
XP Mode. Only Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate are licensed to install XP Mode.
We will not hesitate to track the latest news.

It has no more been any secret on compatibility between Windows XP and Windows 7. Peacefully, an application called Windows XP Mode emerged. It's just the secret new feature you never heard.
Windows developing team is focusing on a convenient and realizable way for upgrade to Windows 7 directly. In fact, for a quite long period passed, Microsoft has quietly established a "Windows XP Mode", running programs for Windows XP on Windows 7 smoothly with the virtualized technology. Purportedly, it is based on the Virtual PC took over by Microsoft in 2003.
Once this technology have been realized, a key disadvantage in Windows Vista would be successfully overcome, that means, there would be no any barriers on the compatibility between Vista and those previous Windows system. Further, some authoritative release demonstrated the XP Mode would be made available freely to users of Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate editions through a download from the Microsoft site. In other words, the XP Mode would not be included in the box with Windows 7 and would be an out-of-brand update. No matter which kind of release would be available, undoubtedly, Windows 7 provides a much smarter and easier way to run old programs directly.

Presently, the better choice is to use Windows XP Mode for appropriate system upgrade. Windows XP Mode will create a virtual XP environment under the Windows Virtual PC. And programs on the desktop will run directly on Windows 7. Microsoft has already announced Windows XP Mode Beta Version would be ready sooner as well as the Windows Virtual PC for Windows 7 Professional and Final Version.

SpyBot Search & Destroy is an efficient tool in the fight for defending our privacy against all types of spyware, including adware, trojans, keyloggers, trackers and similar infections which are created by some unscrupulous people and which in most cases, they just hurt PCs performance by reducing network bandwidth, cluttering our hard disks with trash, or leaving us without an Internet connection if they are incorrectly uninstalled.
SpyBot Search & Destroy detects and removes a comprehensive list of different forms of spyware which in most cases is not considered as a virus, however, this kind of malware can be even more devastating if we compare with some regular viruses. Today we are going to go though its main features and novelties of its newest version.

Specialized PC Cleaning
In the case of spyware, most of antivirus programs contain a function that goes in this direction. However, most of them work as a complement, not being able to detect, much less eliminate most of this type of malware. In that sense, SpyBot is a different tool, and the difference lies in the fact that this type of malware is not directly involved in activities devoted to the destruction of the system, or to attack the security of Windows, but to send private information about users to any location in order to seize benefits for some individuals. There is some kind of spyware which purpose is to find security codes or detailed and precise information, and others which simply track what a user does in his/her PC (usually used for marketing). Even you don't feel quite inconvenient or a headache on WinZip or WinRAR, but it is really a norm work when facing so many umpteen RAR files. Depending on different categories, file management and extracting works should be done first before downloading. For example, DIVX/XVID releases must be packed with RAR file and broken into 15 or 20MB volumes. I just figure out one example. What about the feeling when facing plenty of such kind of extracting and uploading? The only solution is to extract and upload as stipulated in the rules. I knew about it many times, most users complain this process is quite tedious and boring. So, I recently experienced and conclude five useful tools to extract multiple RAR/ZIP archives at once. Hereby, I will introduce them briefly.
1. ExtractNow
As the name suggests, ExtractNow aims at extract multiple archives easily. It is such a simple utility allowing you to extract multiple archives in a quite easy and fast way. The interface of ExtractNow is very clean and well-designed, meanwhile is easy to use. To extract files,, simply drag and drop them into the main program window, or right-click the files while in Windows Explorer. Currently ExtractNow supports ZIP, RAR, ISO, BIN, IMG, IMA, IMZ, 7Z, ACE, JAR, GZ, LZH, LHA, TAR, SIT archive formats, which is much more than the rest. Simple but not simplistic, this is a powerful and reliable program that will be of use to anyone who manages many compressed files.

2. Unpacker
The most obvious feature of for Unpacker is it could make a queue of every RAR file added to the list and extracts them one by one. This way is especially popular due to you can peacefully play any games or even do something else. No need to wait in front of the computer. It is not a WinRAR or WinZIP replacement but quite a useful tool until when you want to extract large quantum of archives. It also has optional functions to cleanup (removing archives after extract). You should try it, it is free and you‘ll get a notice when a program update is available, that way you'll always have the latest version. Other functions like minimize to tray, thread priority etc. are also available. Read the rest of this entry »

In this article I'm going to share with you the most outstanding novelties and features of the new version of the award winning series of anti-malware security software, BitDefender Antivirus 2009. In this new release some new features were added and existing ones were improved, this "install and forget" product provides top-notch proactive protection against all kind of malware including spyware, phishing attempts and identity theft, at minimal resources consumption.

Solid Protection via B-HAVE Technology
BitDefender Antivirus brings the ability to protect any PC in real time against virus, spyware and other types of Malware, but in my opinion, what is more interesting is that virus detection is not exclusively dependent on a list of known viruses, but through its B-HAVE technology, which can identify new threats and unknown attacks, or "0-day". So, what does B-HAVE mean? B-HAVE stands for Behavioral Heuristic Analyzer in Virtual Environments, and it is a next generation heuristic detection technology which generates a virtual computer-inside-a-computer where programs are run in order to analyze them in search for potential malware behavior. This kind of heuristic detection is based on the fact that if a program shows malware-like characteristics and/or behavior, then probably it is malware, moreover, malware programs usually perform specific actions (which legitimate pieces of software do not) thus making them detectable. However, this may look easy to understand, but in fact, the technology behind the process is highly complex. Read the rest of this entry »
