Let's Make File Sharing Easier with Shareaza

Shareaza is a peer to peer (P2P) file sharing utility that incorporates all the basic utilities with added features and functionalities. It satisfies all my file sharing needs on peer to peer networks. I can now very easily and quickly download or share files. Shareaza supports multiple networks and I can easily share files on the EDonkey, Gnutella and Gnutella2 networks. It gives me a multiple utility interface with a variety of other added features like a media player, library manager etc.

Configurable and visually appealing user interface
The overall outlook and feel of Shareaza is very appealing and user friendly. All the important tools are represented by toolbar buttons for ease of use. With just a single click I can reach every important tool and directory. All the ongoing activities are displayed on the homepage and thus help me to monitor the progress of all my uploading and downloading files. There are also many skins that I can choose from to enhance the visual appeal. The settings tab allows me to control each and every aspect from my application tool settings to my internet connection settings.

Comprehensive library architecture to help organize files
It has an extremely well structured library feature which I can use to easily organize my files in the various folders. I have different folders to separate my collections from all downloaded files and also a separate folder for my torrent downloads. There is also a library organizer that enables me to separate files like images, videos, music, applications and books into different folders based on my preferences. There is also a ghost files folder that keeps all the files that I have deleted from my library and can thus recover accidentally deleted files.

Inbuilt Media Player for entertainment while working
Shareaza gives me an inbuilt media player for my convenience. I can now play my audio and video files while I am using Shareaza to share files. Thus now I can easily check my currently downloading audio and video files even before completion. There are also some audio visualization’s that can play while listening to music.

Extensive Tabbed Search Utility for easier and faster accessibility
There is an extensive search facility that enables me to easily search for files on the networks. I can also specify which of the three networks (EDonkey, Gnutella and Gnutella2) to search on for my required files in the advanced tab. I have an option of specifying what type of file I am searching for be it music, video, application etc. Then when I find the file I am searching for, I can easily download it by clicking on the download button. I also have an option of filtering my search using the filter feature. I personally liked the tabbed search feature that allowed me to easily start a new search in a new tab without losing my previous search results.

Monitoring Transfer Speed and Status in a single tab
Now I can easily monitor my transfers using the transfer window. All my uploading and downloading files are listed with all the details such as file size, progress, speed, status etc. I can also preview currently downloading files and filter viewable downloads based on status of the file (active, pending, paused etc.). I also have the option of monitoring my download progress using the show monitor option.

Network Maintenance on a click
There is a network tool that allows me to monitor the network I am connected to. It provides me with the details of the neighbors that I am connected to presently. Some of the details viewable are the address, port, bandwidth, client etc. Now I can easily connect or disconnect from a particular network or even chat for any support issues. I also have the option of banning particular hosts as per my choice. The system tab gives me a report of all the connections established and broken.

Chat and Security for easy interaction and better safety
Shareaza includes a chat feature that allows me to interact with different users on various channels. I can easily add channels from various networks and can chat with the users there. I can now easily get support for any issues or even make friends. It also blocks unwanted popup messages and has Anti-Malware and Anti-Spam Filters that ensure the security aspect of the software.

Inbuilt BitTorrent Client
Shareaza also gives me the functionality of downloading torrent files from the internet, so now I do not have to download any other torrent downloading software. I can easily search and download torrent files using the inbuilt BitTorrent client in Shareaza.

Final Verdict
Shareaza is must have utility for all P2P (peer to peer) file sharing users. I personally like it because of its overall structured layout with a host of other utilities like the integrated media player, BitTorrent client and security benefits.
