Because of the default format of Microsoft Office Software 2007, many of them can be opened with WinRAR, so we can do many things with this function.

When we are using PowerPoint 2007, we save our document as .PPTX file if we use default setting. In fact, presentations saved in this format is a archive in ZIP format, we can open it with WinRAR.

If you have WinRAR in your computer, first open WinRAR and drag the PPTX file to the WinRAR window to open the PPTX file.

Double click to open the PPT folder, find out the MEDIA folder, and open it. Then you'll find all of the pictures of this PPTX file are here. Right click the MEDIA folder and extract it to some folder you want, you'll get all the pictures in the right folder. Read the rest of this entry »

We all have many secret files in our computer, many of us may set a password for them, I have tried that before , but my mother was very angry to see that and tried a variety of methods to "share the secret with me". Does your wife do the same thing to you? Now we can disguise our secret files with WinRAR, they even don’t know the existent of that secret file.

First, put the secret files and a MP3 file into one folder, select all and right click them, select "Add to archive".

First, create an item to extract all the files. Click Start menu and select "Run", enter "Regedit" to open the registry editor. Navigate to "KEY_CLASSES_ROOT/WinRAR/shell" , right click the shell menu and select New -> Key to create a new Kew under shell item, then name it "Compress TXT file".

Now right click on the new key and select New -> Key to create a "subkey" of the key we just created, rename this subkey "command" . Double click on the "Default" item in the right hand window , this brings up an Edit window which is used to set the default value. Enter ""C:Program Files/WinRAR/WinRAR.exe" a -r -ep "%1" "%1*.txt"" in the window (not include the double quotation marks outside), note that "C:Program FilesWinRARWinrar.exe" is the menu of WinRAR in my computer, you must change it to yours. Comment can make our management of WinRAR files more easily, we can also add Serial number as the comment of software, so that we don't need another file to keep serial number. We always download files which is compressed to more than one parts by author , for some reasons. We must keep all of these parts and every time we want to use this file, we must extract all of them. Of course, we can extract all of them , copy them to one folder, and compressed this folder instead. But it is so troublesome, isn't it? We can enhance right menu with two items to reach this purpose.

As it is already proved, Internet Explorer 9 will be final on the stage in this March. After complete Windows 7 launch, now, Microsoft has laid its importance on another important components: Internet Explorer. Currently it has revealed the first details of Internet Explorer 9 in Log Angeles. Let's together get an early look on it.

Some details:
- On HTML 5: Microsoft was coy about whether it would support all of the HTML 5 standards, the next generation of HTML. The company doesn't seem willing to commit to the standard until it is set in stone, but "wants to be responsible" about supporting it.
- On Javscript: They admit that their previous browsers don’t match the speed of Firefox or Chrome. However, it appears that IE9 looks to narrow this gap. From some of the data they presented, it looks like they're getting closer to matching the other browsers (though they don't beat them).
- On CSS Support: It looks like IE9 will finally get better CSS support, especially for rounded corners. It's a disappointment though, when you consider the other browsers have supported these things for years.
- On Hardware Acceleration: IE9 will utilize DirectX hardware acceleration to improve graphic and AJAX rendering. It will push more work towards the GPU. This is actually looks pretty slick from first appearances.

Most industry experts believe that Internet Explorer is a laggard in terms of compatibility, standards, and speed. Microsoft seems to be working to change that with IE9.What to do now? There's no telling what it will be able to do. Waiting and expecting the Internet Explorer 9!

We have know how to add a "Extract to higher folder" menu to right mene of WinRAR, It's so convenient, isn't it? We can add other menus we like to the right menu, too.

Sself-extracting file in EXE format is one of the favorate files for rookies, we can extract these files without any compression software. But unfortunately, almost all the file we downloaded from the Internet is of RAR or ZIP format.
