Extract Pictures from Microsoft Office Software 2007 with WinRAR

Because of the default format of Microsoft Office Software 2007, many of them can be opened with WinRAR, so we can do many things with this function.

When we are using PowerPoint 2007, we save our document as .PPTX file if we use default setting. In fact, presentations saved in this format is a archive in ZIP format, we can open it with WinRAR.

If you have WinRAR in your computer, first open WinRAR and drag the PPTX file to the WinRAR window to open the PPTX file.

Double click to open the PPT folder, find out the MEDIA folder, and open it. Then you'll find all of the pictures of this PPTX file are here. Right click the MEDIA folder and extract it to some folder you want, you'll get all the pictures in the right folder.

If you don't have WInRAR in your computer, you can also get the pictures from the PPTX file. Rename the PPTX file as a ZIP format, and double click to open the archive, then you can get the pictures frome the PPT/MEDIA folder. Note that if you can't rename the PPTX file, you can uncheck the "hide extensions for known file types" from the "Folder Options" window.

Although now we have Word 2007, many of us like Word 2003 better. If we are using Word 2003, but we still want to use some pictures of a docx file, we don't need install Word 2007, we can use WinRAR to do that.

Open the docx file with WinRAR and double click the Word folder, you’ll see a Media folder here, extract all the pictures from the folder and you'll get them.

Note that the pictures we get is all the pictures used in docx file, and even if the pictures has been compressed in that docx file, we still get the picture of the original size.
