Using WinSCP to Transfer Files Between Your PC and iPhone

WinSCP is an open source free SFTP client and FTP client for Windows. Legacy SCP protocol is also supported. Its main function is safe copying of files between a local and a remote computer. It uses Secure Shell (SSH) and supports, in addition to Secure FTP, also legacy SCP protocol.

WinSCP can be used at wireless network, so we can use it to trasfer files between our PC and iPhone without any direct line.

First make sure that your have installed OpenSSH in your iPhone.

Download and install WinSCP and restart your computer, now WinSCP is ready for your iPhone. Go to your iPhone's Wifi setting page, select one wireless network, then click the arrow to enter wifi setting, note down your iPhone's IP address and restart your iPhone.

Run WinSCP, enter your iPhone's IP address in the Host name box, enter "root" as User name and "alpine" as password.

Then click Save to save your setting, here you can name the session as iPhone and check the selection to let WinSCP save your password for you. And then click "Login" to connect with your iPhone.

Now you can transfer files between your PC and iPhone. The left part of the window shows the folders in your PC and the right part shows the folders and files in your iPhone, you can drag and drop files you want.

The path in the blue bar shows you the absolute path now, if you want to select other paths , you can double click the blue bar to change it.

Next I’ll introduce some shortcut keys often used:
F2: Rename the file.
F5: Copy the selected file or folder to your iPhone.
F6: Move the selected file or folder to your iPhone.
F8: Delete the selected file or folder.
F9: Change the accessing componments of the selected file.
