NVIDIA released for StarCraft II Beta Driver

Posted in News, Utilities  by Yuki

NVIDIA has released 197.25 Beta GPU Drivers for StarCraft II. This driver is just aimed for StarCraft II beta players it seems. Nvidia says that these 197.25 drivers are otherwise identical to the last driver release, the 197.13 drivers. The SC drivers are only available for Vista or Windows 7 — good ole XP really is being phased out these days, it seems.

It supports GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9, 100, 200, and 300-series desktop GPUs and ION desktop GPUs. This release adds compatibility fixes for the StarCraft II beta and for some DirectX 8 applications but is otherwise identical to version 197.13.

See what's new in version 197.25:
* This driver package installs NVIDIA PhysX System Software V9.10.0129
* NVIDIA PhysX acceleration is available on all GeForece 8-series, 9-series, 100-series, and 200-series GPUs with a minimum of 256MB graphics memory and a minimum of 32 processor cores.
* This driver package installs the HD audio driver, version 1.0.9.1.
* This driver adds support for the following products:
GeForece GT 320
GeForece GT 330
GeForece GT 340

Get Your Mailbox Password Back

Posted in Chat & E-mail, Tips  by Sunny

When we are using Foxmail, we can create different account for different users and every account has its password to protect its secret. But, if we forget our password of a mailbox, can we retrive it? Of course we can.

First run Foxmail and create a new account. You can use any user name here (I use test here), but you must use the same POP3 server and SMTP server as the old account. Note that don't enter the password of the new account. Then quit your Foxmail.

Open "My computer" and find the Foxmail folder, open the "mail" folder here. You'll find many folders named as mailbox account, open the folder we just created and copy the file "account.stg". Then go to the folder with the account name you fogot the password, paste the "account.stg" here to overwrite the old one. Read the rest of this entry »

Mozilla Firefox 3.6.2

Posted in Internet, News  by Yuki

Mozilla Firefox has directly updated to 3.6.2 from 3.6 without the 3.6.1. This version is a regular security and stability update. However, some rumors even thought the Mozilla made a mistake and somehow missed the 3.6.1 release, but that's not the case. Firefox 3.6 had come out at the end of January. So in effect, Mozilla is skipping a numbered release.

And in Firefox 3.6.2, it:
• Fixed a critical security issue that could potentially allow remote code execution
• Fixed several additional security issues.
• Fixed several stability issues.

As to the reason whey the skipped out the 3.6.1, The Mozilla platform wiki provides some indication. The Firefox 3.6.2 release is based on the Gecko 1.9.2.2 platform and the wiki notes that Mozilla may potentially be skipping the version number of Firefox 3.6.1 in order to stay in sync with platform.

Sure that make sense, any users may even thought they are missing any possible Firefox 3.6.1. Anyway, download the latest Freifox 3.6.2 and experience it, that is already enough! Get it on Brothersoft!

Restoring E-mail Deleted by Mistake and Compress Foxmail Disk Space

Posted in Chat & E-mail, Tips  by Sunny

Foxmail is a compact, yet very powerful email program with many useful features and a pleasant interface. Foxmail supports POP3 accounts as well as Hotmail accounts and offers support for HTML email, mailbox encryption, multiple accounts and more.

When we delete some E-mail from your Foxmail, Foxmail transfer that mail to Trash box instead of delete it directly. If you want to restore that mail, just go to your Trash box and move it to your in box or out box. Even if we have Emptyed Trash Box, we can still get it back.

First, right click your Trash Box and select "Property" to open the mail box property window. Click the "Tool" tab, and click "Repair this mailbox now".

Wait for a little while, you'll see a note below the Repair button which show you that the mail has been restored. Read the rest of this entry »

The faulty update has been removed and we are quickly working on a solution for the issues experienced by those who downloaded this update. Here is some background information on this problem:

Today (morning PST) we had an update for 64-bit systems (available on our servers between 8 AM and 11 30 AM PST) that caused multiple Windows and BitDefender files to be quarantined. We are creating a patch that will restore all quarantined files. The patch will be available shortly. We apologize for this error and we will work to prevent this from occurring again in the future.
