Posted in Internet, Tips  by Sunny

Nowadays, Linux OS is more and more popular, but many softwares still can't run on Linux, so many of us must keep both Windows and Linux. But unfortunately, their document processing system are different, so if we want to share file between them, there will be some problems caused by different format.

WinSCP is one of the software which can run on both Linux and Windows and it can help us to adjust file format when we transfer file between Windows and Linux.

It’s very easy to trasfer files between Windows and Linux with WinSCP. Just run your WinSCP, click "New" button to create a new session for your Linux, enter the IP address of you Linux, user name and password and click "Login" button.

WinSCP is based at ssh protocol and Linux OS also use ssh protocol as the default telnet protocol, so we don't need any setting at our Linux and it is very safe to trasfer data with WinSCP. If you are just a ordinary user of Linux, WinSCP will pop up a error window to remind you when you want to using files from "/root" path.

If you are a newcomer of Linux and you are not very familiar with Linux operation, you can write your script on Windows and transfer it to Linux with WinSCP instead of using vi editor on Linux. You can freely use your mouse on Windows.

Now just write your script with your Windows notepad, don't worry about the line feeds, tabs or spaces. Then save your script as the right format on Linux, like sh.

Run you WinSCP and login the right session, just drag your script from the left window to the right window (Here left window shows you your folders and files on Windows and right window show you your folders and files on Linux, before you copy your file, please locate at the right folder.). WinSCP will convert your script to the right format which can run well on Linux automatically. It is far easier than you share your file with a shared folder and convert file format manually.

WinSCP is so powerful and it is absolute free, download WinSCP and have a try now!
