The new Hotmail additions fit with three Web trends: consolidating services from across the Web into a single application, providing that application's services via mobile, and adding new features to an application to make it more competitive.

Google has announced plans to replace Google Apps users' personal start pages with its own pop-culturey iGoogle homepage. As Microsoft unveils upgrades to its Office and Hotmail products. The change is scheduled for Thursday, July 1st.

Google has sent a letter to Google Apps domain administrators that announce change, including venturebeat sites.
