Adobe, the American computer software giant, has dominated Photograph & Graphics market for a dozen years. According to record on June this year, Adobe estimated that more than 95% of computers worldwide have Flash Player installed on June 2010; however, the media giant is struggling in rough year for it’s losing in the booming mobile market and the Apple’ abandon on iPad, iPhone and new MacBook Air.
Earlier this year, Adobe has acknowledged a "critical" security flaw in its Reader, Acrobat and Flash Player software which enables hackers to take control of affected computer systems. Flash Player has been banned from iPhone and iPad on April 2010. Steve Jobs described Flash Player as the "number-one reason that Macs crash," a "closed system" that "uses too much power," and a "100% proprietary" technology that generally "falls short." Microsoft Corp also echoed archrival Apple Inc in criticizing Adobe Systems Inc's widely used Flash multimedia software. On “Back-to-Mac” conference last week, Steve Jobs' well-known distaste for Adobe Flash on mobile devices extended to the new released MacBook Air. Between 2008 and 2009, Adobe’s revenue slides from $3.580 billion to $2.946, and its revenue for the second quarter of fiscal year 2010 was $943.0 million. On October 7th, the company’s stock hit a 52-week low. Read the rest of this entry »

Oracle Corp. Chief Executive Larry Ellison issued a statement Wednesday, claimed that he has proof that HP’s new CEO, Leo Apotheker, oversaw a a corporate-espionage scheme to steal Oracle’s software during his previous role as CEO of German software giant SAP.
A trial is scheduled to begin Monday in Oakland, Calif, the date Apotheker is scheduled to start work.
“Leo knew all about the stealing,” Ellison said, Apotheker is “on the run” to avoid testifying at next week’s trial.
Oracle competes directly with SAP in the market for corporate-software applications. A key part of each companies’ business are the services provided for those applications, fee charging.
SAP has acknowledged that a subsidiary stole Oracle customer-support materials. But SAP and HP emphasize that the subsidiary was shut down before Apotheker became SAP’s CEO in June 2009.
“Oracle has been litigating this case for years and has never offered any evidence that Mr. Apotheker was involved”, HP returned stroke to Oracle,“Given Leo’s limited knowledge of and role in the matter, Oracle’s last-minute effort to require him to appear live at trial is no more than an effort to harass him and interfere with his duties and responsibilities as H-P’s CEO.”

When we discussed about the most powerful and easy to use video player, GOM Player has always been one of the best choices for the users. As a sleek application, GOM supplies 3 different display modes: Normal, High Quality and TV output. The users can select any of them according to their customized demands.
However, GOM might be a little troublesome for some novices for each of the modes takes several steps to finish. For example, when select the high quality mode, you have to choose video and subtitle output methods. Then the audio channel has to be selected by the users themselves. Next are the file types you want GOM handled. Finally is to set the subtitle font size and GOM’s process priority. So, as you can see, the whole configuration might be a little puzzled if you don’t have some basic multimedia related knowledge.
Nevertheless, GOM is still a free video player which is worth of recommending. The intuitive interface design is comfortable and some skins of the player are available to change. The aspect ratio and windows size can be altered by a simple click. Besides, in the control panel, the screen capture function is more powerful than most other players. It enables the user to choose the output image format and quality, also optionally set as wallpaper.
For quite a long time, GOM has been famous for playing various video and audio formats including DVD/VCD/RM/ASF/WMV/MOV/MP3/WMA, etc. Our editor has tried playing most of these frequently seen formats on GOM and the result is satisfied. You will seldom find errors or delays unless the video is with some unusual format and resolution.
In this month, GOM player has released the latest version including some bugs fixed. One of the obvious one is changing the volume feature adjusted by 1% when under 5%. Some subtitle issues such as SRT subtitles in Unicode form not appearing has been done.

Mozilla corp. releases Firefox 3.6.11on october 20. Tne newest version patches 9 vulnerablities of the old version.
Two-thirds of the vulnerabilities patched were rated "critical." Two were labeled as "high" importance and one each was judged "moderate" and "low." One of the fixes includes a second patch for a "binary planting" problem in Windows that researchers found last year, which enabled "DLL load hijacking". The newest version patched the DLL part of the flaw and ensures that Firefox can't be used to launch rogue executable files.
Other patches include ones to fix browser engine memory bugs, a cross-site scripting vulnerability and an issue with SSL certificates.
Mozilla also fixed a bug in the "out of process plug-ins" (OOPP) feature that's designed to keep the browser up and running if plug-ins like Adobe's Flash Player, Apple's Quicktime or Microsoft's Silverlight crash.
Users can update to Firefox 3.6.11 by selecting "Check for Updates" from the Firefox Help menu. Firefox 3.5 users can obtain version 3.5.14 by calling up the integrated update tool. Mozilla has also updated its Thunderbird email client to version 3.1.5.

In the just-concluded quarter, Apple sold 14.1 million iPhones and were up 91 percent year-over-year, handily beating the 12.1 million Blackberry RIM sold in the most recent quarter. Just as Jobs said, RIM is fading in Apple’s rearview mirror. The flames of war are spreading to Google Android.
Experts and analysts always argue on Apple’s vertically integrated and closed approach and Android’s more open strategy. In Apple’s third-quarter earnings call on Monday, Jobs focused most of his remarks on Android, Google’s competing smartphone operating system. He described Android "fragmented" and a "mess", and mocking the small number of apps available for Android phones as compared with the iPhone and Android sometimes left users to be the “system integrators.”
Over the past couple years, ubiquity was Google’s advantage, it has been available on devices running on multiple carrier networks, based on which, the market is simply bigger for Android-based devices and Google has capitalized. Once Apple- Verizon cooperation formed, Apple will effectively will double its market and Google’s former advantage of ubiquity will disappear.
“Google loves to characterize Android as ‘open’ and iOS and iPhone as ‘closed.’ We find this a bit disingenuous, and clouding the real difference between our two approaches,” Jobs said. “The first thing most of us think about when we hear the word ‘open’ is Windows, which is available on a variety of devices. Unlike Windows, however, where most PCs have the same user interface and run the same apps, Android is very fragmented. Many Android [manufacturers], including the two largest, HTC and Motorola, install proprietary user interfaces to differentiate themselves from the commodity Android experience. The user's left to figure it out. Compare this to iPhone, where every handset works the same.”
