BlackBerry was the top selling smart phone in the UK during 2010. RIM was delighted with a 28.2% share of the smartphone market. During the Christmas period RIM recorded over half a million sales which equated to around 36% of overall smartphone sales.

After a shaky start to 2010 with a drop in sales RIM eventually come through to finish strongly. It has been a tough year for the BlackBerry. A large number of businesses made the dreaded switch from the BlackBerry to iPhone. However, companies such as Morgan Stanley and HSBC remained loyal, continuing to insist it was handset of choice. It is clear that the coolness, stability and update frequency of iPhone meant it became popular among the business world. Elsewhere in the market it was able to see off fierce pressure from the release of the Android series.
There are a massive 33 million BB messenger users worldwide which signifies a 500% increase the previous year. RIM adapted well to the recent trends in social media and connected well with both Facebook and Twitter. However, it still lags far behind Android and Apple in terms of apps as it provides a mere 17,000. That aside, the BlackBerry handsets perform very well, hence the smartphone market in 2011 will certainly be hotly contested.

The game itself – while built off of the unique premise of having players infiltrate and rob a wacky chocolate factory – functions as a classic top tier arcade game would. While I Luv Chocolat Lite contains only two levels the full game is much larger in scope, consisting of seven expansive individual levels through which players navigate, collecting each one of the thirty different chocolates hidden within the game in order to win. To successfully pass each stage, players need to rack up a set a mount of points – done by catching and eating as much delicious chocolate as possible – within a given time limit. To make things even more challenging, each level is riddled with pesky factory guards and bad chocolates which will deplete a user’s time banks and take points away if eaten. The new avast! 6.0 will provide no-hassle ‘virtualization’ to all users, giving them even greater security. AutoSandbox is the first time that a free antivirus will offer virtualization technology together with outstanding malware detection.
AVAST Software is including an array of new technologies in its soon-to-be released avast! 6.0, including virtualization technology for all of its free users.
“AVAST is so committed to free, we are providing all of our users with this virtualization technology for free,” says Ondrej Vlcek, CTO of AVAST Software. “It is not always certain that an item is 100 percent clean but with AutoSandbox virtualization, we’ve created a safe space between the known good and bad content which will make life safer for all avast users – whether they are using our free or paid-for products.”
Virtualization technology enables people to create a ‘virtual’ computer inside their physical machine. If they encounter malware while browsing the internet or running an infected application, the virtual computer will shut down, leaving their real computer unharmed and running. “Most viruses are spread through executable commands and scripts are the entry point. By isolating the binary in a virtual computer, the real machine stays clean,” explains Mr. Vlcek.

AutoSandbox, a free virtualized environment for testing suspicious code, makes virtualization an easy one-click choice. “Virtualization has the potential to significantly increase user safety, but people have been slow to adopt this technology—even when it’s a part of their antivirus package,” says Mr. Vlcek.
