Google releases Chrome right-click context menu API

Posted in Internet, News  by Eric

Google has introduced the new Chrome right-click context menu API to the developers in the official blog of Chromium browser. It said, since the release of Chrome extended system, the developers are in great need of the right-click context menu. Now this function is included in Chrome Beta-Chrome new beta version.

The new right-click context menu API allow developer to register menu items for web pages and to add particular items to menu, like right-clicking on a picture or video. Take, for example, you can provide a simple way for users to share pictures to Google Buzz, send to Bolger or Gmail. Some users may add a number of extensions. It will be crowded, if these extensions are all added to the right-click context menu API. To avoid this situation, Chrome right-click will automatically group the items from the same extension into a sub-menu.

In addition, Google has announced two more APIs. Omnibox API can make developers integrate with browser’s address bar. With this API, developers can custom search engine for your favorite website, keyboard macros to automate tasks and even integrate chat clients into address bar. Infobars API can add infobars to certain tab across the tops. This API uses normal HTML, so it can be customized and interactive deeply.

Faster Brand New Beta for Google Chrome

Posted in Internet, Reviews  by Lucas Artigas

Though Google's browser developer team removed the beta label from Chrome on December and they were working and updating two simultaneous branches: developer and stable, two days ago (March 19th) they released a new beta version, thus re-opening the beta branch and adding it to updates along with the two formerly mentioned.

Note: Before we run into this article, you have to know that if you decide to try the new Google Chrome Beta version and its newest tool and features, your earlier stable version of Chrome will be replaced with this one as Google Chrome does not allow two versions to be installed simultaneously. Moreover, as I always do, I must warn you about beta versions: they are only intended for testing purposes, you should not use them for production as they may lead to data losses and overall system malfunction.

Warnings done! Let's see what's up with Google Chrome
The most outstanding novelty in this new beta version seems to be its improved speed, developers stated in Google Chrome Blog that in their testing made under the V8 and SunSpider benchmarks, Google Chrome current beta is between 25% and 35% faster than stable version and almost 100% faster than their original beta version (notice slight variations between both testing platforms). My Chrome Experiences

Posted in Internet, Reviews  by Yuki

There are no more things but Google Chrome could attract my attention in 2008. Since its public release, Google Chrome deserved more and more attention and of course doubts. Is it faster than IE? Would it be more attractive and convenient than Firefox? To be indubitable, there was an exciting battle among them. Developers started to carry out a "competition". But in my opinion, Google Chrome, including a powerful JavaScript engine and V8, made the next generation of web applications faster in the browser.

Chrome is a wonderful progress to Google. Several months ago, Google takes the Chrome into browser competition; it is really a big surprise for us. But for developers in Google, they are watching an ever-increasing production after many developing years. A notable V8 JavaScript engine is nowadays a feature with high reputation. A browser, being an owner for plenty of web application users, loads a faster speed in Chrome and web applications take it in a full scope.

There are more interesting tips in Chrome. A simple UI is the first one I am dedicated to. Chrome UI takes few screen places once you open it in some old notebooks. Besides, I would not be disturbed by any sudden pop-out windows. Chrome keeps me on the current one. This is really a fantastic experience for me. Once I was busy on reading or picking information, suddenly a window came out, forcing me to close it and continue my work. Consequently, I should do the same thing several times for a bad browsing experience. I was totally driven crazy! But now here with Chrome, I can do things in the way I like!
