Found Your Band with Your iPhone

Posted in Games, MP3 & Audio, Reviews  by Leo

I really love to play music with my iPhone recently, I don’t need the real instruments, I don’t need the real amplifier, everything I can do is tap the screen and play the music I like. I’m sure most of the music lovers have a dream to have their own band and the difficult thing is finding the player, right now, we can solve this problem with iPhone.

Do you remember last time I talk about the iAno and Guitarist which can be used on iPhone? Today, I want to introduce another product published by MooCow Music, it’s called Band.

Band is a collection of virtual instruments. In the version I installed on my iPhone, it has drums, bass guitar, piano, blues piano, DJ tools, a machine to play dance music and crowd that make full use of the iPhone’s multi-touch technology, it allows you to play complex chords or solo in real time. The effect of the instruments is awesome, for example, when you play bass guitar, you can see the strings strum, and when you play piano, you can see the keyboards really be depressed. By the way, I think this grand piano is better than the iAno, although the keys is smaller than iAno, but it shows the double keyboard on the screen, so you don’t need to adjust the keyboard’s position to play.

All the instruments of Band are very good, especially for the blues guitar I think, maybe because I love blues music. You can play the classic 12 Bar Blues, it supplies the beat, chords, fill in and the notes. With the multi-touch abilities, you can play the very pure blues sound, that’s incredible. Pay attention to the background, a bottle feels like the Jack Daniels over there, do you wanna drink and play your blues?

Not only playing music, but also you can record the music you play and mix them into a song, ok, it’s your own music. It supplies the save and playback function, when you listen the music you mixed, you can set the volume or mute some sound. When you record sound, you can use the metronome to keep the rhythm in time and you can edit or modify the mistake you make by the edit function

When I got this funny software, seems I have forgotten the iAno and Guitarist, because I have my own band to play my music. But I have to say, all of these products are very good and each of them have their own feature to attract me.

Turn Your iPhone into Instruments

Posted in Games, MP3 & Audio, Reviews  by Leo

I just posted about the iPhone games. Today, let us check some interesting apps about music, if you like music and can play instruments, or if you wanna study how to play instruments, I’m sure that iPhone is yours very good first teacher.

Ok, I remember when I just bought the iPhone, I’m so excited with its technology and wanted to find some interesting applications which can use its multi-touch screen. One day I stumble upon a video on YouTube, a man was playing piano on his iPhone, oh my god, is it true? Playing piano on iPhone? Then I started to find this application and I finally got it, it is iAno (native Pianist). Just install it into iPhone and it turns iPhone to a piano, the sound quality is awesome, and the keyboard is no difference with the real piano keyboard. iAno’s keyboard has four octaves that you can play, with iPhone’s multi-touch screen, you can also play chords. But here comes a problem, compared with piano, the iPhone’s screen is to small to play, so you have adjust the keyboard, so it will effect the speed of your playing, but I think it doesn’t matter, we just use it on iPhone and it is a perfect application anyway.

Another small application I want to introduce is Guitarist. It turns iPhone to a virtual guitar. “This application brings a full guitar fretboard to the iPhone, and allows the users to play complex solos via an emulation of the guitar ‘hammer-on’ technique.” The publisher MooCow Music says. Click the icon of Guitarist on iPhone, and then you will see the wonderful interface, it is a guitar fretboard and you can scroll it up and down to play the high or low tune, according to the multi-touch, you just tap the string and you can play the note, not only play solo, but also you can play the open chords. About the sound, right now, it just supply the acoustic guitar sound with high quality, I think it must be better if they can add the electronic guitar sound into this application.

With these applications about music, iPhone has become more useful to me. At the beginning, I just give attention to its iPod function, but right now, my mind has been changed with these funny instruments. I really like to play piano and guitar in my life, so when I am on the road to go to work or back home, it will spend the time with me.

New Way To Play Game - Touch & iPhone

Posted in Games, MP3 & Audio, Reviews  by Leo

With the development of times, entertainment function has become an important part of mobile phone. More and more games have been published for the mobile phone platform like S60, UIQ, Windows Mobile and more… As well known, the Apple iPhone has been released for one year. Both systems and operations are revolutions in the field of mobile phones. It has also brought changes to the mobile game, with the iPhone's multi-touch and other new technology, mobile game becomes more interesting than ever before. Let’s check out some of my favorite games on iPhone.

Tap Tap Revenge
Tap Tap Revenge is a rhythm game for iPhone 3G and it can test and improve the music skills. The interface is so simple, the background picture feels like the wallpaper of Mac OS X Leopard, you can listen to the music and tap on the screen to keep up with the music rhythm. Oh! Forgot to say, you can also shake the iPhone through the beats and arrows as they fall. It is so fun! It also has a two player modes, you can put your iPhone on a desk and enjoy this game with your friend from the different direction. And you can load the songs in your iTunes library to play in the game. I think it adds more fun to it. You can download Tap Tap Revenge HERE.

iPhysics
It was known as one of the most fun game on iPhone. The interesting point of this game is that you can draw something by yourself and use it to push the ball in the game screen, make them arrive at the terminal. It uses the motion sensors in the iPhone device and you need to figure out how to use gravity to move and complete the mission. There isn't any such a game like this before, when the first time I played it, I'm so surprise and fell in love with the iPhone's unbelievable technology at once. You can download iPhysics HERE.

These are just two of my favorite games which I always play on my iPhone, with them, I even have forgotten my PSP. With the release of iPhone software 2.0, there will be more and more high quality and funny games on iPhone, and other mobile platform will also release more games to compete with iPhone in the future. I think it is a good thing for the game fans.
