Opera Build 1090 Arrives, Adds Even More Features

The Next branch of Opera’s development has been updated to build 1090, with a number of interesting changes that see alterations to the skin’s appearance and improvements made to the plugin installation process. Of course, there is also the usual swathe of bug fixes and performance enhancements, and despite the fact that this is a fairly early glimpse of the next version of the browser, it already seems surprisingly stable and polished.

Opera is a web browser and Internet suite developed by Opera Software with over 200 million users worldwide. The browser handles common Internet-related tasks such as displaying web sites, sending and receiving e-mail messages, managing contacts, chatting on IRC, downloading files via BitTorrent, and reading web feeds. Opera is offered free of charge for personal computers and mobile phones.

Top 5 Browsers that never crash

Now a days people are facing lot of problems with there browsers, as they often crash while working on something important. No matter how lite the browser may be, people still find difficulties in using them with peace. I am not a rebel of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, i still support them a lot. But some things must be changed accordingly, when we are progressing in technology and life. The reason to write this post is, many people have complained me that there browser will often crash when they open some thing flashy or while using more number of tabs and applications.They always ask me which is the best browser which never crashes when they are on serious work. So i have decided to make a list of browsers which never crashes so often. This list is my own custom made report, i have tested each and every browser very carefully and noted there working capability by putting a lot of stress on each of the individual browser while working and to my surprise the results were quite amazing and now i will present the top 5 browsers whom you can trust to work for hours without any problems.

First let me make clear that this is my own custom report, This was tested was conducted on the basis of a common user who spends 18hrs a day in browsing like me.So the list goes like this..

Opera Mini Reports Over 85.5 Million Users

The famous web browser company Opera Software ASA has released some statistics showing that users of Opera Mini already over 85.5 Million in December 2010.

In December 2010, Opera Mini had over 85.5 million users, a 6.8% percent increase from November 2010 and an 84.7% percent increase in unique users since December 2009. Mobile operators should be very glad too as Opera Mini users generated over 706 million megabytes of data for operators worldwide.

Opera Mini is enjoying plenty of popularity on the mobile market. If you haven’t given Opera Mini a test drive before this, now it’s a good time for you to take a try.

Stronger Competition on 3 Pop Browsers by Rendering Engine - Part 2

Previously, we told about the interface and highlight features of 3 pop browsers by rendering engine. We will test the speed and performance in this article. Who is the final winner? We will wait and see.

1. Testing items and results
Startup Speed
We tested the startup speed to see how much time takes when a browser start to work. No plug-ins will be available except standard testing installation. Blank page is the startup page. We count an average time in three tests.

Seen from the above table, Opera is the fastest one, Firefox takes No.2 and IE is the last one. For another word, respective resource occupation would be resulted in its own score. Opera certainly runs fast and simple. Fortunately, IE8 didn't solve its huge resource share problem.

Page open speed
We this time again test the loading speed when opening different pages. Three websites with abundant contents are selected here. We took the time until all the contents are finally loaded.

Stronger Competition on 3 Pop Browsers by Rendering Engine - Part 1

With the development of internet technology, a browser currently is not only a simple tool for browsing but finally a personal media terminal tool. Here they are after quite, after the storm, browser marketing shown us a contention war of eye balls. Since Internet Explorer and NetScape "fight" each other, IE periodically was the flagship of browsing industry but was later taken away by Firefox one after another. Then, with Safari for Win and Google Chrome, we see plenty of up-and-coming products and competitions starts. One fails, another rises. We witted such an exciting web war. Naturally, each of them open up special abilities and look forward to earn a place in IT industry.

At the moment, browsers based on 3 popular and major rendering engines, Internet Explorer based on Trident, ever perfect compatibility to Windows operation system and browser from the third-party developers based on IE, all along firmly takes up nearly 50% of the browsing industry. While Firefox based on Gecko with free source code is in possession of advantages IE doesn't, the third-part y plug-ins constantly updates and all are well strengthened. Besides, excellent safety and stability inside, Firefox still obtains a majority of skillers with professional computer technology. Similarly, Opera based on Presto with a long developing history could be survived in such a fierce competition, majorly attribute to its unfailing speediness, efficiency and stability.

Opera 9.63 Update Released

The Opera development team has been busy the last weeks releasing the first public alpha version of Opera 10 and only a week later an update for the latest official version of Opera which raises the version to 9.63. The new update which became available earlier today is a recommended security update and every user with Opera installed should update the web browser immediately.

The update is already available when checking the Help > Check For Updates option from within Opera. It can also be downloaded directly from the official Opera FTP website for all supported operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Apple Macintosh, Linux and mobile devices.

Here is the list of security issues that have been fixed in Opera 9.63:
* Manipulating text input contents can allow execution of arbitrary code
* HTML parsing flaw can cause Opera to execute arbitrary code
* Long hostnames in file: URLs can cause execution of arbitrary code
* Script injection in feed preview can reveal contents of unrelated news feeds
* Built-in XSLT templates can allow cross-site scripting
* Fixed an issue that could reveal random data
* SVG images embedded using tags can no longer execute Java or plugin content

Guard Against The Threat Of Web Browser

From Google, ETH Zurich, IBM Internet Security Systems, some security specialist have made a inquiry about browsers usage Goolge's viewer, found that nearly 640 million people don't update their browser to the latest version, which is the most secure version.

The report showed that, End June this year, only 59.1% Internet users to install the latest version of the browser, that is, there are 637 million people either are still using the old version, IE accounted for 577 million.

Firefox users upgrade (security) awareness is the best, before 3.0 release 92.2% have used 2.X; IE users, only 52.5% upgrade to IE7, of course, there are a lot of stick with XP system people.

The study also found that in the past 18 months are up 83.3% Firefox users upgrade to the latest version, Safari and Opera at the same time the ratio was 65.3% and 56.1%. More than Half of IE users did not have to upgrade to IE7.

Research shows that enhance the safety awareness is the most important issue, the browser should be eye-catching position to remind users upgrade the latest version and patches.
